An online escape room, or online escape game, is played on a screen instead of in a physical room: you search locations, gather clues and solve puzzles to escape or crack the mystery before time runs out. On Escape Game Generator, every game is a story written for you by AI.

Escape room or escape game: what’s the difference?

None: “escape room” is the usual term in English-speaking countries, “escape game” the one used in France. Both mean the same timed puzzle game.

How does the escape room generator work?

Pick a format (from 10 minutes to one hour), a number of players and a genre, or start from a suggested idea. The generator writes the plot, the characters and the puzzles, illustrates every location and checks that the story can be solved from start to finish before handing it to you.

Can we play together, even remotely?

Yes, from 1 to 6 players: around a single phone passed from hand to hand, or each on their own phone from home, with secret roles in some games.

Is it free?

Creating an account is free, and published stories are free to play. Generating your own stories uses gems, which you also earn when other players play your creations.
